No wonder they sacked him. Keystone cop defending Coventry should have been 3 up by halftime

Mark Hughes has been sacked a few times now. What has he ever achieved? Why does he keep being employed?

I don't often have a good word for Stoke, but at least they think the FA Cup is important enough for an exit from it to be the last straw of a dismal reign

Still like his goal he scored in the Cup Winners Cup final. The camera angle from behind the goal as he rounds the keeper and leathers it, is supurb.

Re: MAKR hughes Sacked
I've got no real problem with Stoke but a massive problem with Hughes. He's a bad winner, let alone a bad loser. Not that he really remembers what it's like to win of course.

I read a mad stat about him the other day. I think it was 61 points in 62 games or something. Amazing they didn't fuck him off a lot sooner.

In my mind he was a decent enough manager and was a brilliant striker too, he has though always been a miserable man especially when things are not going his way.

I thought he was a dirty cunt as a player and a dour miserable manager. Lost the league at West Ham twice in the 90s

Oddschecker gives Giggs as favourite.

I don't understand why people are lumping on him.

One mildly amusing result of this is that he might take the Wales job away from the laughably unqualified Ryan Giggs

Not a surprise.

Re: MAKR hughes Sacked
I remember when he left Man City, he was Mr Billy big Bollocks back then and rumour was we may be interested; his response was he was only going to consider the very top sides or teams capable of getting into the CL.

After no offers from the “Elite” he ended up at Fulham and has slowly been working his way down ever since……………

Comes across as a dour and angry type, but he will be back, just like the other merry go rounders.

Who will replace him, has Warnock been mentioned?

Re: MAKR hughes Sacked
He has met his MAKR

Always strikes me as someone who could start an argument in a phone box and appeared to have feuds with every other manager.
I take it this means he won’t now be charged for his abusive language and aggression towards Arnautovic when he came off the pitch at Stoke?
Oh, they weren’t going to bother with that anyway? Ok then

I heard Robbie Savage (his mate) defending him and saying he has finished 9th 3 times with Stoke, 6th with Blackburn & 8th with someone else (Fulham?). He challenged a Stoke caller to say who he wanted and he struggled to name anyone and finally blurted out Bilic who he reckoned had a 49% win ratio.

Re: MAKR hughes Sacked
The pressure has got to Hughes over the last few months and he was starting to lose the plot. He’s been put out of his misery.
